Universal PreKindergarten

Universal Prekindergarten (UPK) is California’s initiative to ensure every child has access to high-quality early learning experiences before starting kindergarten. This program brings together different types of early learning opportunities, such as State Preschool, Transitional Kindergarten, and other early education services, to create a seamless and supportive experience for families.

In Tehama County, UPK helps children build a strong foundation for future learning by focusing on their social, emotional, and academic growth. Families benefit from a more connected system that provides the resources and support needed to help every child thrive.
